In Q2, momentum continues to build with new bookings growing over 30% QoQ and our customer base expanding with global wins

Q2 momentum and new customers

We are excited by the strong need for our data quality solutions resulting in a big jump in new bookings in Q2 - up 30% over Q1. Among our newly acquired customers in Q2 were SSEN Transmission and Chaucer Group, whose data innovation journeys we are engaged to support.

To reinforce our commitment to innovation in AI, SaaS and Cloud in our solutions, we welcomed Jay Limburn as our new Chief Product Officer in June. Jay joined us from IBM where he led the team responsible for IBM watsonx, and has over two decades of experience in helping companies align their technology vision, strategy and execution to deliver business outcomes.

Product innovation

In our most recent version of the Ataccama ONE data management platform, we included a range of enhancements and innovative generative AI features to enhance customer experience, facilitate ease of use and encourage user adoption across businesses.

New AI capabilities enable significant time savings for both data stewards and data consumers through an improved, self-documenting catalog with automated data quality. Ataccama ONE AI can generate data quality rules based on the profile of data, generate expressions and SQL from natural language, translate generated content into other languages, suggest improvements to generated content, and provide a conversational assistant experience with our documentation.

Data stewards can additionally leverage our ONE Data module for data preparation, creating a self-service experience for improving data directly in the Ataccama ONE platform. Protect Sensitive and PII data with our new Data Hiding capability, giving data stewards ultimate flexibility and control over sensitive data governance.

Supporting Microsoft Fabric adoption within your organization has never been easier with our new OneLake connector, allowing users to document and define, understand, and improve data quality issues for Fabric workloads. Additional product enhancements focus on security, scalability, and component reuse with a new Secret Management service enabling more secure storage and management of application secrets, keys and credentials, support for DQ checks on a subset of data within a table, and parameterized DQ rules.

Industry recognition

We were honored to be referenced in the June Gartner Market Guide for Data Observability Tools as a representative vendor. Everest Group also named us a Leader in its Data Observability Technology Provider PEAK Matrix Assessment 2024, based on the dual criteria of technology capability and vision to deliver products successfully, and market impact.

Data Observability is part of our award-winning Data Quality solution and provides a comprehensive, proactive approach to monitoring data quality and structure, overall health of data systems, and business term detection. These accolades validate our expertise in scaling proactive data quality monitoring and real-time issue detection across entire organizations. Our solutions empower businesses to achieve their objectives, save time and money through automation, and support the deployment of trustworthy AI.

Driving value for customers

Long-standing customer, Lloyds Banking Group, joined us at the Gartner Data & Analytics event in London in May. Jamie Duff, Senior Manager, emphasized how data quality is crucial in a highly governed, regulated, complex and data-rich industry. Data quality is the foundation for businesses seeking to scale their business operations and deliver more value for their customers. This has enabled LBG to reduce its legacy footprint and enhance customer experience, with the goal of maintaining its leadership as the trusted, modern bank of choice for UK businesses and consumers alike.

Another Q2 highlight is Ataccama’s participation in the Snowflake Data Cloud Summit, where we took the stage alongside our joint customer TCW, a global asset management firm and shared how the Ataccama and Snowflake combination is driving a critical 95% time saving for the TCW data team. Established in 1971, the firm’s volume of legacy data was a huge challenge with great urgency as business users need to be able to trust the data in Snowflake and ensure sensitive data is correctly classified and protected. Ataccama’s solutions support TCW’s strategy to establish data quality as a service across the organization.

Better together with our partners

At the Snowflake Summit, our Chief Product Officer, Jay Limburn was interviewed by the host of  The Data Cloud Now on the critical importance of data quality for AI. Migration to Snowflake costs businesses on average $500 million and a data quality program supports handling practices to extract additional insights and maximize the value of a modern data platform. This ensures teams can support data initiatives upstream, such as increasing revenue, managing risk or reducing costs, and also start to use the data for AI initiatives.

We explored how businesses can get AI ready with Dima Turchyn, AI lead at Microsoft in CEMA, during an in-depth discussion that tackled some of the myths surrounding using AI to help customers unlock the value in their data and accelerate their business. We observed that AI is only as good as the data that feeds it, and the AI pioneers will be organizations that have made an active effort in recent years to prioritize data governance, quality and accessibility. To use a Formula One analogy, data strategy is like the pace car which must check the track conditions before the race car, the star attraction, can run the course.
