[Gen 1] 3. Creating data quality rules

3.1. Configuring and testing a simple rule

In this tutorial, you will learn how to create your own custom rules in Ataccama ONE from the data stewardship interface. We will create a new simple rule from scratch, using an example of the “Date Validity” rule. We will set up multiple conditions for the rule so that you can learn various options: IS_EMPTY default condition, a condition set up from the dropdown menu to check if the date is too far in the past, and a condition defined with an expression to check “if the date is in the future”.

3.2. How to share a rule and collaborate

In this tutorial, you can learn how to collaborate on rule configuration. We will share a rule with a colleague and leave a comment for her, so she knows how to implement it. We end off by checking our notifications to see if the Rule is finished and seeing the completed rule in our Rules section.

3.3. Creating a component rule

In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a request for a complex (component) rule. We will create a new component rule in Ataccama ONE and publish the request for advanced rule configuration by a data engineer. We will then fast-forward to the complex rule being configured for us and will receive the published completed rule.
